Dress Code: semi-formal—think Italian garden party. Ladies might opt for a midi or maxi dress, in bright fabrics or floral prints, while gentlemen can wear dress pants with a button-down shirt, with the option to add a lightweight blazer.
Dress Code: black tie. Ladies are encouraged to wear floor-length gowns in bright colors, and gentlemen should wear tuxedos. Inside the church, ladies are required to have their shoulders covered, but may remove the covering for the reception. For gentlemen, a dark necktie may be worn instead of a bow tie if preferred.
We recommend that gentlemen rent their tuxedos in the US and bring them to Florence, as this provides a wider selection and allows any alterations to be completed well in advance.
